With admiration I read this book on Bach’s masterpiece The Art of Fugue by pianist Theo Nederpelt. He divulges to the reader how this music has been a part of his life – performing it, thinking about it, completing the final counterpoint (for which I offer my compliments!).
Bach always remains fascinating, regardless of which instrument you play, to audiences and musicologists alike. This book is by no means meant exclusively for the latter category of readers, but is aimed at everyone who wants to learn more about Bach’s great creation which, as it were, brought a conclusion to a period in music history.
